THE
NEXT TWENTY-FIVE YEARS The Hoe-o-Tainui School and District Jubilee Committee acknowledges the many people who contributed articles, anecdotes and photographs for publication in this 75th Jubilee souvenir book. Special thanks to Lynda Leng and Arrow Press.
Chairman’s Message For most past pupils of Hoe-o-Tainui school and past residents of the district, there will be different memories of their school life and time in the district but the most important factor of these celebrations has been catching up with old classmates and teachers and seeing some who have travelled long distances within New Zealand and from overseas. On reflection, many will recognise the important part the school has played in the early development of their lives. The many teachers who have taught here also played a significant part in the learning process of the pupils who came here and to them we all owe a debt of gratitude. The school has been the focal point of the district and has played a vital role over the past 75 years. The magazine has been printed to give you a lasting memory of the celebrations. The Jubilee Committee have enjoyed working together to make this reunion possible and I thank them and the other helpers for their support, but it is you who attended who have made it a memorable and enjoyable weekend. Thank you all.
Doug Clarke Chairman Jubilee Committee March 2000.
