Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. My name is Krystal
Phillips and I am going to talk to you about drinking alcohol and about
drinking and driving.
Alcohol in the body. Well what can you say? It slows down your responses and slurs your speech. Alcohol can make you react in some terrible ways. You do and say things under the influence of alcohol and can't even remember, and that's pretty sad.
People drink socially and sometimes they drink to get rid of their problems. Basically it just slows you to the max, brain wise I'm talking about. Too much alcohol can also do damage to some of your body parts inside. So if you prefer to drink alcohol or should I say too much of it, to me it shows that those people do not have respect for themselves.
Now if alcohol in the body can have that effect, why on earth did they lower the drinking age to 18 years? Research shows that when the age was twenty, eighteen-year-old boy and girls were already sneaking into pubs and clubs, getting drunk and causing grief under the influence of alcohol.
With the government putting the age down to eighteen it's going to
encourage sixteen and seventeen year olds to sneak in and out of clubs and
pubs. I mean they think they're tough without alcohol and man when they're
drunk they believe they're the toughest things on earth.
Which brings me to my other topic, drinking and driving.
Drinking and driving; is it worth it, to ask yourself? If you drink and drive and get caught you're in major trouble. It could be you've had a few beers, got into your car and got caught driving all over the road. The hardest thing the law can do then is fine you, take away your licence and disqualify you from driving for six months to a year.
If you repeatedly get caught drunk behind the wheel, then off you go to jail for 6months to a year. It's all for the sake of alcohol.
If you kill someone while drunk, off to jail for a very long time, so you
can think about the person you have killed all because of beer. The shitty
about it all is you've killed someone and you're in jail getting three
meals a day, while the family of your victim is suffering. I think people
like that should have to stay in jail until they suffer.
If you drink and drive you're a bloody idiot. Please, all you rural people don't drink and drive.
