Marijuana is a dried leaf that people smoke. They also smoke the seeds and flowers. I think the law should ban Marijuana, but under special circumstances it shouldn't be Illegal.

The reason I think this is:
on TV you see people going to jail for smoking Marijuana or growing it.

Why? I mean, now days there are worse drugs out there, such as Cocaine, Heroine, LSD and Angel Dust. Those kinds of drugs can make you go crazy, or out of your mind. I'm not saying that Marijuana can't make you go crazy, but Marijuana has far less effect than alcohol. Alcohol causes car accidents when you drink too much. Alcohol doesn't even relieve stress or pain, it just gets you drunk. People say that Marijuana helps their pain and illness. They say it makes them feel a lot better and relieved. I think that Marijuana should be treated as a medical drug for pain and stress relief with a doctor's prescription.

I also think that it is a better drug than alcohol, because alcohol could make people violent, when Marijuana could calm people down. I think that the law against Marijuana should not be so harsh considering it is not a very harmful drug compared to the drugs available now days.

What would New Zealand be like if Marijuana became legal?
I think that if Marijuana became legal there wouldn't be as many people going to jail for smoking it or growing their own. People wouldn't be so worried if they saw Marijuana growing in someone's garden because it would be legal. If people saw other people smoking Marijuana on the streets today they wouldn't immediately report to the police. If it was legal, drug sellers wouldn't be able to make a profit, because could grow their own.
